And Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; “for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” Luke 21:1 – 4
The principle of sacrifice determines how God evaluates your giving and of course determines your receiving power. A person’s gift is not determined by the amount given but by the amount of sacrifice involved in the giving. The widow gave everything while the rich gave from their abundance – no sacrifice. Hence the relegation of their offering to ordinary status. If you desire to grow wealthy, intentionally increase your giving to God. He will not only approve of you but will cause you to receive pressed down, shaken together, running over. (Luke 6:38) This is Christian Economics with John Uzoma. May your sacrifices come before God today like a sweet smelling aroma. Enjoy His favour.
